International Society of Bible Collectors
Stand: L01
Founded in 1964, the society’s individual and institutional members (both public and private) hold some of the world’s most valuable collections of rare books and manuscripts. They will present a special temporary exhibition 'Collecting the Bible: From Gutenberg to the Jerusalem Chamber'.

Bookbinding with Marysa de Veer, Otter Bookbinding
Stand: L02
Make you own hand-sewn booklet or have your name embossed in gold on a bookmark. Marysa will also demonstrate edge gilding and sewing a text block with raised bands.

Hand-Press Printing with the St. Bride Foundation
Stand: L03
St Bride foundation now houses the world’s largest print and publishing library and offers a regular programme of design events and workshops. There are demonstrations and activities demonstrating the art of hand-press printing and typesetting, including printing blocks on a galley press, printing using an Adana press, and hand setting type.

Richard Thompson Insurance Brokers
Stand: L06
Richard Thompson Insurance Brokers, the only broker approved by the Antiquarian Booksellers Association, offer specialist products for antiquarian book and map sellers and collectors. They will be on hand to answer queries regarding the insurance and protection of rare items from antiquarian books to valuable art pieces.
Creative Computing
Stand: L07
Software and website development for booksellers and collectors. Tome Dupre will be demonstrating Creative Computing’s Bookseller software which is used by leading booksellers in the UK and abroad.

Bookbinding with The Royal Bindery
Stand: L12
Discover how the Royal Bindery’s apprenticeship scheme is preserving traditional binding skills. Apprentices will demonstrate techniques beside a display of their work, tools and materials.

Calligraphy by Andy Moore
Stand: L14
Andy Moore has been a full-time calligrapher since 2007 he is a member and Secretary of Gloucestershire Guild of Craftsmen and he is increasingly involved in the world of books. The ABA Fair will provide the opportunity for the first showing of an adaption, in a one-off portfolio, based on a chapbook, The World Turned Upside Down, printed and sold by James Kendrew of York in c1820.

Contemporary Book Arts with Mark Cockram, Studio 5 Book Arts
Stand: L09
Mark specialises in fine contemporary bookbinding and book arts and offer a variety of bookbinding courses. Mark Cockram and Troy Moore will teach workshop participants to make a limited edition, pamphlet stitch book of ‘Great British Firsts’ specially produced for the ABA Firsts Bookfair that will include historical firsts, imagery and facts including many inventions and discoveries.

See traditional techniques demonstrated by master craftspeople from one of the oldest bookbinding firms in England.
